By Larry LeMasters Tillicum Toys (“Tillicum” is a Chinook Indian Nation word meaning “friend”) is a toy company that started in Tacoma, Washington, in 1926. Originally called Craigcraft Toy, the Tillicum brand emerged in 1927, and for about a year or two the two company names shared the same Tacoma street address.
