Victorian elegance graced the auction block
By Nancy Kelly ERIE, Mich. — The Victorian Era refers to a style that was popular during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). It benefits from the romantic influences of the period, including intricately carved details, dark woods, and heavy plush fabrics and tapestries. Extremely intricate designs (like animal, foliage, and scroll carvings) can be found decorating numerous household items and furniture pieces.
