Vintage Mother’s Day cards make the perfect gift
By Larry LeMasters While there is no “heyday” for greeting cards, in general, the 1950s come close. Following World War II, people wanted to keep in touch with loved ones and friends, so greeting card sales hit all time highs. Approximately 240 million Mother’s Day greeting cards were sold in 1959 alone, making 1959 the greatest year for Mother’s Day cards ever.
