Monaghan name added cachet at Yoder auction
By Nancy Kelly LAKE, Mich. — In 1960, brothers Jim and Tom Monaghan co-founded Domino’s pizza when they jointly purchased a small pizza restaurant called DomiNick’s. Jim traded his 50 percent share of the young business to his brother in exchange for a used 1959 VW Bug that the company had been using to deliver pizzas. Tom went on to develop (and rename) the company and Jim pursued various jobs and hobbies.
