Jules Gabriel Verne (1828-1905) was a French novelist, who has been called the “Father of Science Fiction.” Early in his career, Verne was lucky to meet publisher Pierre-Jules Hetzel, who teamed with Verne to create a series of novels called “Voyages Extraordinaires.”
